Cam tech
How hard is it to do the cams on a 4.6 2v? Ive done a cam before on a pushrod 350 but what is all involved. Is it just a simple swaping out the old cam and putting the cam gear on the new cam and getting it lined up and then ur set or what do i need to know before i attempt to tackle this. The heads should be easy as pie but since im going with new heads and cams the whole thing might be hard to get setup. Idk what do you guys think?

Yeah im getting a big ol manual for it and my dad and i are going to tackle it. I might have to just take it to my mechanic for that part but if you think i can do it its worth a try.

RE: Cam tech
it's not that complicated you could do it with a motor manual. and some helping hands the only tuffer part which is a little simple is the cam degreeing took a lot of research to figure that one out!!

Well you'll need to do pretty much everything you'll be doing to install them to degree the cams.
It's not a painful swap. You have to remove the front plate, mark the timing chains, etc etc. You'll need basic air tools, spring compressor & other basic tools. There isn't much afro-engineering needed to do the job. It's rather straight forward, there is just a whole lot you have to go through with the front engine plate just to get to the chains & cams.
