anyone heard of this sensor?
my car was showing the check engine light so i took it in for a diagnostic test and it came back that i had a bad pf-or maybe pfg sensor???? what does that do? and is it easy to replace? thanks

they said pressure feed back-and i looked up the actual sensor on a ford parts website-but i was just wondering if this is a critical problem, i dont have the code in front of me-im at work

if it's the PFE, pressure feedback EGR, it's the small thing on the top of the EGR valve that has the wires going to it and it tells the ECU how open or closed the EGR valve is. Don't have a clue what it costs but it easy to change. When I took my EGR valve off my Stang, I took it all apart to see how it works and this thing has a plunger on it that follows the diaphragm that moves when the engine vacuum changes and moves the EGR valve itself. Could be that it is stuck maybe and just needs to be freed up. You might be able to do this by using a portable vacuum pump on the EGR valve to move it back and forth a few times to see if this clears up the code.

whatsamattau, can't you read what I just wrote??
The EGR valve is usually mounted next to the throttle body on a spacer block between the throttle body and intake manifold, at least that's where it's at on a 5.0, don't know for sure about the 4.6L engines. you would use a digital volt meter to check the output voltage from it as the vacuum changes to see if the voltage changes with the vacuum level.
