Default Welded on midpipe/catback

Anyone have this done? The dealership that has worked on my families cars forever took a look at my exhaust leak for me. They completely took it off from where another shop had messed things up putting it on, and completely redid everything for me, but there is still a leak. They said that there was a problem with a clamp from the x-pipe to the catback or something like that.

The possibly good part though, they offered to weld my mid pipe to my catback for free. They said that since I had already had my car in there for work, they would just go ahead and do this for me for free.

My question is, will this affect my catback/mid pipe at all? Is it a bad idea? Anyone with any experience with this please let me know ASAP because they want my car in Friday to get this done.

I wouldnt recommend having them weld the SLP X to the Stingers for 2 reasons.

1. if it still leaks after that, you've got two welded exspensive exhaust components.

2. if it does fix it, okay, but if you EVER want to change out your exhaust, or buy a new stang and want to keep the parts, you'll have to cut them to get them. and thats no good

Well......if it doesnt fix it then I guess thats one less thing I have to worry about lol. For the other part, I dont ever plan on changing my exhaust...I love the way it sounds. Plus I dont see myself getting rid of my car any time soon b/c I'm still in college and my loan is for like another 4 years or so. I think I'm going to go ahead and have it done......I just wanted some opinions on it.

Yeah dont do it man. Try to find anyway around it. Unless you think youre never going to take ur pipes off. And never say never with fickle mustang owners like us always changing our minds lol
