PI is talking about the heads on the new edge (99-04) mustangs. Ford made a lot of improvement in airflow on the 99-04 heads, so they named them performance improved (PI) heads. To go along with this the new edge motors got an upgraded cam and a more aggressive tune. Thats where the 40 HP difference over the earlier 4.6's came from.

ahhhhh, so if i were to buy a 2000 GT it would already have PI heads and goodies?
