is changing out the rear brake rotors the same as the front? time for me to get new pads/rotors and i wanted to know what i was getting into before i jumped in. i've done the fronts before soi have the basic knowlege. (i hope)

It's simple and similar to the front until it comes time to compress the piston so that you can fit the pads around the rotor. It requires a special tool (around 12 bucks at any auto parts store) and it is used to rotate the piston so that it seats further inside the caliper, just like how we use a c-clamp to compress the pistons on our front brakes. This cheap tool DID NOT work for me. Sometimes turningwhile simultaneouslypushing is all it takes, but in my case, a better tool was required that did the same thing but was designed in such a manner that it itself used force while turning to push the piston back inside. Long story short, I did not want to shell out the 100 bucks toget this tool, so I went to a brake shop and they threw on my rotors and pads for like 50 bucks.
