How do i know if my synchros are shot? it seems like my tranny has been acting abnormal lately. but i cant really put a finger on what the problem is. any help is greatly appreciated. the tranny has 54,000 miles on it and has been babied its whole life. except for a few hard shifts

Ok this is how you tell. Turn the car on and put it in nuetral on a flat surface with the e brake off. Without touching the clutch just start to push you shifter into gear to where it starts to catch. If it grinds the synchros are shot but if it starts to move foward then youre good.

No. If it doesnt then ur dynchro is shot. Put it slowly into gear without going all the way, Just like youre touching it and you should have some resistance.
