Idle problem

Default Idle problem

Ok my 2000 gt has a idle problem when the car is just sitting and doing nothing tyou can hear the idle go up and down, and today it dropped to like 300rpm then would go to like 500 and back down again i have already taken the iac off and cleaned it should i just get a new one maybe or what could it be

I am saying this with 100% certianty. It is the IAC. (Idle air control unit) go to autozone drop $50 and problem solved. If you dont fix it soon you will have the same thing that happend to me happen. Your car will die once you put it into neutral while coasting, this is because the valve in the IAC is getting stuck. Do a litle research on it it is a very common prob. And by the way all it takes to change it is 3minutes of your time and 2bolts. Good luck

My IAC was ****ing up, I tried cleaning it and that just made it worse, go get a new one v.s cleaning the broken one.

why dont you try cleaning it first instead of forking out $50... what if its not the IAC then you my friend just wasted $50...

go to an autoparts store buy carberator cleaner $3 take off the IAC spray that crap in it put it back on and it should be fixxed. If it not your fuel filter might be clogged or the IAC is busted.

Cleaning it just makes it worse, ask anyone that has had first hand experiance with this prob.
