When is it too old to get blown

I would definately have a comp. check done just to make sure you're in good standing with that. I agree with 2000GT4.6, the s/c itself won't deteriorate the motor any faster unless you're in boost all the time. Go ahead and force feed your car, just make sure you have a good tune and you keep up with routine maintenance. You'd be fine with 10psi on the stock rotating assy. Like stated before... It's all in the tune.

I'd say run a s/c till it blows then put in a forged block! just get a s/c capable of more psi like a p600B also get an intercooler, better for performance and your engine will run smoother! My buddy put 12psi on his 140kmi 5.0 88gt and pounded it for 15kmi with just a lil bit of blue smoke out the rear before he even put it on,. then sold the car. it ran great! 12.2 in the 1/4..lol yup

bah, take those thousands of dollars and have your motor forged. now youll have a new motor making nice power, and then if you want a s/c you can run 14psi or more. that would be fun. wish i did this when i bought my s/c

I've got 121k on the clock and the V2 SQ is doin A-O>K,.....its all about how the motor was taken care of...my situation,,the car was lady driven on the highway the last 70k plus and she had all the reciepts for oil changes(on time an early most of the time)....and it wasn't modded at all,,not even a K&N.....So,,I kinda figured it hadn't been abused,,,.....until NOW!LOL....but...I'm gonna build a short block here soonenough.....just so I can turn it up more....and giggle harder..........
