RE: Help 99 4.6 2V to 3V conversion
Were actually not working with a 5.4, but a bored and stroked teksid alum block 4.6. With the bore and stroke we have a 5.3L. Are engine route just changed last week because we actually just got done procuring the high lift valve kit, new blower cams from FRPP, and extrude honing a set of 04 cobra heads so we just got all that done. As far as the heads go we might have to replan this and do it all for the 3V stuff. But for the most part we already have the bottom end components and block.
As you can see we have enough cowl on this vehicle:

Cash isn't much of a concern considering its a SEMA vehicle. Our main point here are we HAVE to use the 3V intake manifold which we will most likely coincide with a turbo setup. To keep on track of the subject, cash or money shouldn't be a concern so theirs no point in complaining about it. I'm just looking for the technical information and how to get it done.
Currently I'm sitting on 1- 99 4v cobra engine, 1- 04 4v cobra SC engine, 1- 06 GT stock 3V engine, and many components for a 5.3L short block.

Without a doubt it'll have to be built. I was assumingthey already knew that. The stock trans is trash over 400HP but you hear STORIES of them lasting 200 pulls on the drag strip. You'll need a whole world of new parts from the radiator to the axels if your going over 400rwhp and racing, you can last up to 600rwhp if your are very careful and never use full throttle but that would be pointless. You will end up putting about $11,000 into the long block for all forged stuff. Then $6,000-$8,000 for the blower or Turbo Kit, then you get to buy everything else to go along with it. A Viper spec T56 would be good too. $20k is an easy amount to spend on mod motor setup, if you are married or in a serious relationship I recommend warming up the old lady to the idea of spending 20k unless your company is in need of it or you run an automotive shop then go all out.
If you rebuild the engine and do all the head work you can cut your money in half, but if you don't know how then you pay the man to do the work fo you.

Damn good idea. I was going to post a thread on how to put a 12 cyl. 36V in my car.

the difference between the 3v and 4v ISNT negligible. the 4V is always going to be better than a 3V. not to mention its alot easier to find a used mach or cobra motor than it is a used 05+ GT motor. just get a built block if you wanna make alot of power and go F/I

I think the key idea here is not money or the fact the 4V might be a better engine its we are putting together a SEMA car, and were looking to display new products to the market. Stuff you have not seen so with that said again I don't care if its easier to find parts or if the 4V is better I'm just looking for the information. If we could have run with the 4V we probably would have.
