Default Longtube header install... how difficult?

Alright, I have the headers and the H-pipe ready to get put on my car. The thing is that I dont know whether I should wait to get them put on, which is gonna be around 450 for the labor. Or if my friend and I should tackle it over the weekend. I've done all my mods myself and I guess I could say that I'm mechanically inclined. My friend used to work at a speed shop and has done a set of LT headers on a cobra before so he knows his stuff fairly well. But I dont know how hard the job is and what are some of the hard parts when doing the job... So I was hoping I could get some info on what to look out for when putting the headers in or if I should just wait and pay the 450 to get it done. I live on a military post so they have a car care place here with lifts and engine hoists and all that good stuff so having the right equiptment wouldnt be an issue... thanks fellas.

If I do that then I would have to get it re-aligned right? So would that be easier then pulling the motor?

putting on a set of LT's is no walk in the park. most people dont' do it themselves. but if your buddy has done it before, you're machanicly inclined, and you have the right tools....i say go for it. as long as your buddy knows what he's getting himself into. ask him what his opinion is, and see if he would feel comfortable doing it with you. i think it's pretty much his call

Yea... He already told me that he'd be more than glad to help me out. The only thing that I'm affraid of is us getting to a point where we wouldn't know what to do and just being stuck without a way to fix whatever the problem may be. Another thing is that I don't know if somethings gonna be cut or modified or if it all just bolt ons. The idea that I have is to just take the motor out and swap the old headers with the new ones. But I'm a little cautious towards everything so thats why I want to be sure that I'm not going to encouter any problems where something has to be cut or anything like that. But if its just pulling out the engine and swaping the headers then its easier than I thought and would take on it myself.

you can never ensure that there's not going to be any problems...but that's where we all just live and learn
