no it will not work without having to modify your fu20el basket but there is a dude in the classifieds selling a modified fuel basket for a focus pump for like 20$ shipped

his name is roush2nos, as you can tell the stock fuel pump is a lot different so you have to mod the fuel basket.

You are supposed to reuse the bucket that is in the tank already and discard the fucus bucket. Drop your tank, take off the cap, remove the 7 screws holding the top on your bucket. Pull out your old pump and put in the green top pump. Takes all of thirty minutes. If you are small enough you only have drop the drivers side all the way down, that way you dont have to disconnect the filler neck. And be sure you are under 1/8 tank of gas.

+1 on disgarding the SVT basket. I had a hell ofa time trying to figure out how to get the SVT pump to work in my tank. I called JMS and they said pull the actual pump out of the basket (along with the new "socks") and replace it in the stock basket. Worked like a charm.

The SVT focus pump will work without modifying the stock basket on an 04. Is the 2000 basket different?
