I would just keep the headers and put a catted h pipe on. Shorties are not illegal, but if your town has sound ordinance laws you might just want to coast through cop infested known areas.

 

OK so heres how everything ends. I got the catted hpipe from my friends wrecked stang (It really hurt to see a mustang in such bad shape), and put it on my car as well as the stock manifolds (it wasnt as easy as i thot but with a lil work it turned out fine). So i took it to get inspected by the town and of course i got out of the ticket. After the bitch it was to take that **** off and replace it i decided my trusty mechanic was gunna get some extra work (plus i ran outta vicodin). I gave him300 cash to reinstall my headers and o/r pipe and pass me on my next inspection. From now on im driving a lil slower and coasting past every f**kin cop i see. Thanks for all your help guys
