There is no reason to buy the very expensive paxton/ati cooler. Just get a ebay bar and plate (must be bar and plate) cooler and pipping kit. If you can cut the pipping yourself (just need a sawzall etc) you can put the entire kit together for under 500 bucks.

You reclock the supercharger on the blower bracket. Its not hard at all, you just remove a few bolts and turn it around.
The pipping isn't hard to do, it comes in prebent sections with different angles (in a ebay kit that is). All you do is cut the straight parts to the right lenghts.

I think a DIY kit would be the best bet. The pipe fabrication would be a little tricky I think. If I'm not mistaken the vortech's discharge points at the passenger side of the engine bay and kinda up toward the hood right? The procharger points down and towards the driver side of the engine bay and the piping wraps around the front of the radiator and back around up thru the fenderwell into the t/b. Yeah, the piping would be the only issue.

Im looking into making my own I/C kit and it looks pretty simple as long as you can get someone to weld a few things for you.

I am going to try to get everything I do down when I do mine and figure out exactly what is needed, then do a complete writeup (with deminsions). Theres no reason this hasn't been done yet, and its stupid that mustang owners have to pay 1400+ for a complete intercooler kit when the ricers all pay less than 500 .

The intercooler was one of the determining factors in my choice. I probably would have gone Vortech if there was a cheap DIY intercooler option last February. I didn't feel comfortable blazing that trail myself so I went with a ProCharger. I think a write up would be an invaluable asset to those with, and considering, superchargers.
