Default rear caliper sliding pin question

if one of the sliding pins was say 1/4" longer than the other one...would that cause the caliper to have a sticking sympton ?...one of mine was and the rotor was putting off alot more heat...so i took it off,cut the sliding pin and smoothed it out and it seems to be doing ok now...think that was my problem of thinking the caliper was sticking ?

JH23, that could possibly cause sticking. Its kinda unlikly but it is possible. Just make sure you use Syl-Glide silicone lubricant to grease all of your slides.

Default RE: rear caliper sliding pin question

the reason i ask is because i drove the car 250 miles home last saturday....i replaced the brakes on all 4 corners.....the caliper sliding pin in my passenger side left caliper broke,so i replaced it with another one that was about 1/4" longer...after i got everything back together is when i started noticing the rotor on that side was way hotter than the other 3.... so today i took the pins out and cut the long one and smoothed it out...so i'm wondering if it was making the caliper side sideways more since the bolt was longer...the caliper isnt getting hotter any more...its the same as the other 3
