just cams is cheap, if you do stage 1s you dont need to do the springs..however i opted to do so, and the whole job ran me 2047.88 exactly cams and valve springs, machine down the heads all that good stuff
Wow! The power gained was worth that much?

well what you actually gain after tune and everything said and done, not really, but for me personaly, i love the sound of cams, i think it makes the car seem more of a muscle car, and the power is somthing you can feel but i mean its no supercharger..

now i wanna go install my stage 2's.

i have an offroad x and slp lm1's so i can only imagine what it will sound like.
Straight thru mufflers will not lope at idle like a chambered muffler will. Just thought u might like to know.

Car sounds GREAT!

Which would i gain more power with some patriot stage 2 heads from americna muscle or vt stage 1 cams.???

just buy the cams, and get your stock heads port and polished..any good machine shop can do it and it will work just as well and save you money

heads deffinitly......cams only gain you 20 for stage 1, mabye 25-30 for stage 2's and no point for stage 3 without ported heads.... personally it was a waste of a grand for me, I like being unique since not too many people have cams, but I could have spent my money better for the minimal gain... I deffinitly wouldnt spend anotehr grand to have someone install them... not worth it.. IMO

Stage 3's also would not do jack on a stock shortblock. I would assume you would need to spin wayyyy part 6k for max power.

Any good machine shop could do it. But you'd be better off sending them to a reputable place like VT, Livernois, MMR, etc. Somebody that knows the 2v heads specifically.

my car alreasy sounds like its cammed just with the exhuast set up. i have a video of a guy with stage 2s and lm1's and its insanely loud. if not i might switch to flowmaster 1 chambers or i might try mac because i like the way their mufflers sound.
