You did the right thing. It may have been tough to walk away from a good deal, but your pride is worth more than that. You won't have a problem finding another one. BTW, I got my 02 for 14K (out the door with 38K miles) so it wasn't like you were insulting them with a very low offer.

Their loss.

i still get treated that way. it sucks being in your 20s or even teens looking for a car. new or used. i've been trying to buy a new car and most places won't even let me test drive a vehicle. most think i'm just there looking for a free joyride. it's frustrating!
^^^^^+1 i totally agree with you on that hell ive had more problems with PRIVATE sellers then major companys!!! ive went to look at stangs from private sellers and when i got there and saw me (22yo) they wouldnt let me open the doors sit in the car crank it up pop the hood nothin i had to stand there like i was a 2yo while he showed me everything!! needless to say that stang is not in my stable.

I'd think you can do a better deal. I've seen Mach1s with 30k miles in that price range man...you'd be better off with the mach.

I tell ya it's no wonder Ford can't sell cars...even the good car they do make (mustang) the salesman just think it will magically sell.
I went to look at an 07 GT a few weeks back. The dealer has 11 of them on the lot and 6 V6s and it's a small dealership. I see the
exact one I want....black on black, 5-speed, 18" rims, etc. I wait....10 min no one comes out...I go inside. I haven't driven the new
GTs yet so I ask if we can go for a test drive. Salesman says "we don't test drive the GTs". So i kindly say "OK lets take the V6 out
instead" Salesman replies "Sorry, we don't test drive the mustangs" So I'm already pissed, but I remain calm and ask him "how do
you expect me to purchase a $30,000 car without test driving one?" Then he goes in to try to tell me some BS about the v6 and GT
are totally different, etc until I rudely told him the Pony package is a GT without the V8 and shut him up. After getting nothing from
him or the manager who was standing next to us the entire time I got pissed, cursed him out saying "there's no wonder why you still
have 17 mustangs on the lot where all the other dealers in the area have 3 at the most!!! It's no wonder your dealership is being closed
by Ford" (which it is) Come on...I can't test drive a mustang? My best friend test drove his brand new cobra before buying it...my
friend test drove his Maro SS before deciding to buy it and I can't drive a measily mustang GT? It still pisses me off thinking about it.

that was incredibly rude. id go outside, and back my car up to the doors, and spray rubber all over the place.

dude, i concur, i would have thrown little chips of rubber all over their windows...and if for some chance it was nice, and the door was open...id try and launch some into the showroom as well. Nice Mach, except its an auto, i hate automatics...personal preference. But in light of things, I was 18, went to a ford dealership, told the dude I was looking for a new 06 GT, he was like "what color, options, etc.." I'll go inside and find you the one you want...and offered me a test drive....
