I am all for doing stuff myself for the $$ savings and the satisfaction of doing it myself but I gotta tell you that unless you are a mechanic or have one as a best friend I personally would not call a cam job a DIY thing.

Too much to go wrong if not done properly. 2 big things are degreeing them properly and avoiding PTV (piston to valve)contact.

do not do this yourself. there is a reason mechanics charge a lot for this, because it is hard to do. you will spend tons of time and end up mad and frustrated.

what cams are you wanting to go with

you mean springs right?
You will need new springs for a stage II cam and a tune afterwards.
