I'm all the hell confused now. If the finals are the same then why would you have adifferentrpm at the same mph?

People forget that the T-45 has a different final gear compared to the 3650.

3.73s ina T-45 will almost exactly equal 4.10s in a 3650 in 5th gear.
+1 people should remember this when saying "dont fear the gear" and all that dumb ****..

I have 4.10s with my 3650 but i wouldnt want anything lower for the road

For those looking for a gear calculator check this out, its about the best one i've found

Where is everyone getting the info that the final gears are different? And why is everyone now so willing to say the transmissions are different enough to make that much of a jump in RPMs, but were all saying i was full of it when i was saying they were different a couple months ago?

Lets just go right to the source

Tremec, the 3650:

The T-45:

http://www.tremec.com/English/products/T-45.asp

On top of that, there used to be a guy with the screenname Jdainel on here. He was in an arguement with 98LS1 about how his car would run xxx MPH with just a gearswap. Basically 98LS1 said his speedometer was probablyoff,so he went out, borrowed a GPS, and made a video of him doing 70 MPH (while showing the GPS). Jdainel had a 3650 car with 4.10s

I posted that something was off, since his RPM at 70 MPH was the same with his 4.10s as mine was with 3.73s. We did some investigation, and discovered the difference infinal gear ratios.

I later confirmed this when my buddy wayne got a set of 4.10s.. His 4.10s matched my RPM at 70 MPH almost exactly with my 3.73s.

.68-.67 = .01.So a .01 difference in the tranny makes as much a difference in rpm's as 4.10-3.73 = .37 difference in the rear? I dont see how. Not calling bull*hit, just dont understand. Its a force multiplier, so no matter where the difference is, it effects the final ratio the same, so a small difference in ratio inthe tranny shouldnt make a bigger difference than the same difference in ratio inthe rear end.

This is why Irarely ask mechanicalopinionson this board. Some people say this and others say that. Then later, after you spent some hard earned money, you find out you were fed bullsh*t. Just ask around, in person, people at a car cruise or at a reputable shop and they tend to tell you the truth more so than over the internet.

I remember when EVERYONE on this site were telling you to get 4.10's, and if you said you wanted anything less then you were pretty much a puss.

Click the above links. The trans in the 01 1/2+ 2v cars has the .62 ratio. If you actually go thru all the 3650 ratios there are a few .68 and a few .62.. and the .62 is the part number for the mustang.

Trust me, its simply the way it is. Not only have I seen video proof, but I have experenced it firsthand with my friends car.

The .62 vs .67 is enough to make the difference. Your only talking about a few hundred RPM difference between the 3.73 and 4.10 in 5th with the same trans anyway.
