newbie owner with a few questions?
im just wandering if someone can answer my question in simple terms because i am not farmilar at all with car engines yet, but intend to get some basics. im looking for a good inexpensive exhaust system with good numbers and a clean deep tone without being overly loud. is it possible to upgrade exhaust without tuning or tweeking the engine at all. for my harley i have to have a fuel managment system. is this the same or can i increase #s with the exhaust only. i dont intend to keep modifing, and i know its addicting. if anybody has any other recomendations on inexpensive mods( keeping the car close to stock) feel free to leave input. i have no mechanical experience, but want to learn some basics to make the car alittle quicker and better sounding. remember explain to me in dummy terms if you can. ---thanks for listening---jake

for exhaust its all preference... personally i cant stand flowmasters. If your looking for a deep catback look into SLP Loudmouth II and Magnaflow i tyhink there around $400ish And there just a direct bolt on. so unbolt stock catback and bolt up the new one and your done

i agree on the exhaust being personal preference. i have flows and i luv em. i wnat to do either magnapacks or flowmaster single chambers. i luv borla stingers also. not a big fan of SLP.
as far as first mods, gears and a short throw to make sure you dont miss any gears when racing. MGW shifter is the best.

+1 on the gears, shifter, and catback.
These are good solid mods. There won't be any real horsepower gain, but the gears will definatly make the car feel alot better, and the catback will make it sound alot better. After this, look into some more exhaust, some light intake boltons (like a plenum and K&N) and maybe some underdrive pulleys. From there the skys the limit.
