Default Clutch

Ok, I'm new so please bear with my seemingly idiot questions. I did my obligatory newbie thread search and didn't find anything that answers my clutch question.

Why do I have to press the damn thing down 2 feet to switch gears? Is this just a Mustang idiosyncracy (sp?) I'd much like to have a quick clutch that I could tap and switch gears. Do I need to replace my clutch or can the stock clutch be adjusted?

Default RE: Clutch

well im hoping your exaggerating by two feet cuz if not that cant be good[8D]. Mustangs or muscle cars in general require a little more foot work in order to drive smoothly IMO. I think its because our motors produce so much torque, im sure I'll be corrected if this isnt the case. But as for your situation, did you maybe drive a different car before with a manual tranny? Because if so, especially if it was a foreign car and was fairly new it probably had a hydrolically (sp) assisted clutch which helps a lot, and going from that to a mustang (muscle car) it may seem to you that you have to put a little more effort into your foot work.
