Default Radio Help

Guys I purchased my GT used from a Volkswagen dealership. The Mach 460 radio works fine but the CD player keeps giving me a CD error. I recently changed the battery, after I did that the radio worked for about an hour, then I got the CD error again. So I went on Ebay and purchased another Mach 460 replacement. It was only $80 so I figured what the hell. Anyway, I just installed it (thanks for the help on my previous thread regarding installation) and it is giving me a CD error. I'm thinking what are the chances of two decks having the same problem. I plugged everything up correctly. Now if the battery is removed on my wifes Honda I have to enter a code for the radio to work when the battery is reconnected. Is this the problem I'm having??? Has anybody had a CD error with their Mach 460 and if so what was it and how did you fix it???
