RE: 347 or 351 swap
4.6 and 5.4 Weights
Engine Type
Weight
4.6 SOHC
500 lbs
4.6 DOHC
425 lbs (al. block)
5.4 SOHC
525 lbs
5.4 DOHC
540 lbs
I believe those are dry weights for the modulars...throw on an intake etc and you begin to add weight
I've heard the 5.0's can range from 400-475 fully loaded, its not much but it also cuts down on potential failures during a race too
Oh and your not the only one keeping an eye on weight distribution, im slowly accumulating my new IRS...waiting on Kenny Brown to get better (hopefully)

Maximum Motorsports can supply the best tubular K-Member in its class for you. It road race worth, stronger than stock and lighter too!
While your at it you should just get the complete Grip-N-A-Box and call it good.
If you are looking for a stock K-Member I just happen to have one that I can sell you, Its got V6 suspension all over it right now but I can remove that
In 94-95 The K-Member was the same for V6, GT and Cobra, no change at all, just a difference in what was bolted to it.
Also, with a 351 the dech high is taller by almost 2 inches meaning that you would need a 2" cowl hood with a low intake and a 4" cowl hood with a medium rise intake and up. The 347 stroker would be the best bet for stock hood clearance.

ok, so for a 347, i would need a 94-95k-member, but does that mean i need all different suspension or will mine bolt up. also what about the bellhousing and mounts. i will do away with the computer and go carbureted.
