Default Young Mustang Enthusiast with a couple questions

I currently have a 96 stang and i like the 99 04 better. I want to know ifI can buy one and add a cobra engine to it, the real problem is I don't know if i can have aautomatic cobra or if i can get a v6 so it'll be less expensive and add the cobra to that? Any suggestions?

any kind of engine swap is going to be very exspensive, you would probably be better off just buying a cobra.

What would you say it would cost for the engine and the swap?

I would just buy the cobra. Those motors come well balanced from the ford factory. If you start swapping motors, you will have to work out all the bugs.

if i were you i'd just stick with the 96 and add a cobra engine to that, since you have it already, or just buy a cobra, buying a v6 for like 7k, then if you want a brand new cobra engine, for example the mach1 engine you'll need about 6.5k, so thats about $13500 anyways, just buy a cobra or do the swap w/ the 96.

that's what i'm doing, or atleast plan on doing, either swapping a 4v engine into my 96 gt, or just seeing if there are any nice 96-98cobras for sale at the fall car show around where i live.
