He`s had the tune on the car since late last summer without any problems untill last week. He said the car ran real $hitty and the guages were bouncing around from time to time. Then all of the sudden the car just died. I would say it`s an electrical problem.
Very well could be a ground!
Thats exactly what I was thinking too. Or maybe the alternator.

Doubt it was the alternator. It wouldn't cause the gauges to bounce around, that is usually a sign of the ECU failing.

Well, maybe the computer is fried, but i`m sure it`s not because of the tuner. Hopefully he will be able to return the stock tune to the car.

Yea the ECU might of fried due to internal failure or another cause but you said it will cost him $1000 to get it fixed??!?! Is he putting in fighter jet ECU or something? Im not sure what the price on replacing an ECU are but $1000 sounds way too steep, even with the diagnosis.
