Default just got my MAC O/R H but I have a question about one part (Pics inside)

hey everyone sorry to ask this question seeing as I'll probly figure out what it's for once i remove the stock H pipe but what is this little piece of pipping for? IIt's for 2004 GT 5 speed .It doesn't fi inside the right side hanger nor really anywhere i can see. And why is the pass side pipping flange welded and with a gasket is this the way it is? I just want to make sure it's all the right stuff before the install sunday thanks.

Here's pics.

It`s a reducer for the driver side of the pipe. It goes in where the manifold and midpipe meet. You need it or you`ll have a leak.

Forgot to mention. Use the metal gasket off the stock midpipefor the passenger side. The one they give you is a piece of ****.

Yes. Slide it right into the pipe. Also, the passenger side looks just fine.

Not every midpipe has to have one. I know for sure that MAC midpipes do need it. When I had my magnaflow X pipe, I didn`t need one.
