Default Better gearing from the dealer?

I was looking over the original sticker for my mustang and saw this listed in the optional equiptment - "optional ratio axel" at a price of $200. There is no more information listed for it, but im assuming this refers to the gearing? Do I already have a higher gear ratio? And if so what was the original ratio and what is in my car now? Thanks.

Your car would have come with like 2.73's or something around that. I think you are at 3.08 if I remember correctly.

you either have the 3.08 or 3.27 rear gears. 2.73s came standard in most.

Ah...nothing to get exited about then. 2.73's sound like stupidly low ratio for a sportscar but oh well.I guess theres no secrets to my car...Like the dream I had the other night where I found a disconnected sc in the engine bay.[&o]
