thanks man for the reply...yea a buddy up the street has a 94 5.0 and were actually just this year going to race for the first time...(in our mustangs) ive raced a mustang before but it was a friends automatic gt so i realize its a lot different with a 5-speed. so me and my buddy up the street (94GT5.0) are going to an obandoned road in town to practice takeoffs and all that jazz. but thanks again man for the feedback
waste of gas, time, money, risk of cops, launching and driving at the track are WAY different....seriously nothing alike at all in the slightest way dont risk it JMO

On my nittos the car launches at the track almost identically to what it does on the street...

So far as the risk... anybody that says they don't streetrace and owns a 99-04 GT or cobra is one funny guy. Why would you spend that kind of $$ on a streetcar to not streetrace or at least play around every once in a while. If your a track only guy, you sure picked a funny (and dammed expensive) car to do it with.

ill put it to you like this i ran a 14.0 with a 2 second 60' with a stock 2000 auto. Stock i seen a stick gt run 13.6 with drag radials. but my friend ran a 15.3 with a stock 2000 too and my other friend ran a 14.8 with his trans am. but both had like 5 second 60'. so iam guessing like 14.4 for ya unless you get drag radials.

hello everyone, havent been around for a while, but quick update. ended up starting the season running a best of 14.9, preettty disappointing, for my pride. Thankfully i found my nuts, and ended the season with a 13.8. Ive done a couple things since last season and im hoping to get into the low 13's. Anyone in the New England Dragway area? Ill be there most weekends, so lemme know.

I was about to comment on how this thread had been raised from the dead, but it's YOUR thread.

14.9, ouch. That hurts. I went 14.5 my first time with mods so I know what it's like. lol.

I'm running 13.8's now too though, definately a good feeling.

Got any slips to put up for us?

I would want to say that it also has alot to do with the elevation that you are at. I ran my stock automatic 2000 GT automatic and ran 14.1, then i got an intake, underdrive pullies, droped 2 inches, and an sct tuner and i ran 13.5 on 245's. DR really help. i bought some falkens Azenies and they are amazing but i havent ran since. So get DR like the 2000GT4.6 guy said.
