Default Is this dangerous??

My left front ball joint is apparently bad and sqeeks and squeels when i turn, go over bumps.... whatever. I just ordered new Steeda ball joints, but I have to wait for them to be shipped to me. Is it dangerous to drive with this bad ball joint, or just annoying because of the sound?

NOT GOOD! If your balljoint breaks your wheel will go up in your fender well or seperate from your car and cause more damage than it's worth! Also those Steeda Balljoints change the geometry of your suspension and you will need to get an alignment! (which should be done after lower balljoints anyways)

+1

I've seen many a NYC Crown Vic taxi with a wheel stuffed sideways into the fender well.
It's not a pretty sight [:@]
Don't drive it at all until it gets repaired !!

I was reading some reviews on the Steeda X2 ball joints, and it mentions "lowered Stangs" and mines not and Bump Steer kit. Do I NEED a bumpsteer kit to go with this?? Is it a problem to use these X2 balljoints without lowering the Bullitt. Keep in mind that the Bullitts are 3/4 inch lower than stock Gt's? I had being mechanically deficient, LOL

Don't know.
I would call Steeda and ask them just to be certain.

No.. A bumpsteer kit is good to have, but is usually intended for a lowered car. There are these washer/spacer things that you use to adjust the tie-rod ends height in relation to the steering rack, to ensure a straight rack/pinion/tie-rod end alignment. Bumpsteers help lowered cars from destroying tie-rods that are at an awkward angle.. They (stock tie-rods) tend to break or separate easy on lowered cars..

The difference between the X2's and stock ball joints is that the X2's have a taller kingpin and are a bit larger/beefier.. I believe it's more beneficial to use them on a lowered car, but I have no direct experience w/ them on a non-lowered car...
