Default Spack freaking tacular!

Well, I figured out my electrical problem, and it wasn't the battery

The alternator wire post is damaged, its acutally wobbling around in its mount. It almost burned a freaking hole into the water passage in the intake!

This is nearly a brand new alternator, just put it on last year right after the blower. Really pisses me off too, cause I didnt save the recipt.

Nahh that intake is fine!, But I would make sure it isn't a short either in the alternator or a short in the power wire that feeds of of the alternator! That is def a sign of a power wire being grounded either internally in the regulator or externally from the line going to the black box by the battery! I would bring the battery to an auto parts store and have them test it out! Most of them have computer inventory and should replace it even without a recepit as long as you registered your phone number when you bought it. They generally use that for warranty reasons!

I got a new battery already, its the alternator I am worried about.

I am gonna keep the battery, cause the red deal was already showing (indicator) but you think they would take the alt back? I think I did give them a phone number.

I am gonna have to give em a call, thanks for the sugesstion. Maybe I can get a free alternator out of it.

So far as the intake, you prolly cannot tell by the pics but there are acutally holes melted into the intake (pockmarks). I think the only reason it didn't go thru was because the rad fluid is behind there, instead of just air like the rest of the intake.

yet another reason plastic manifolds suck.

The part that has slightly melted isn't a cracking contributor area that is a hassle with those. It's generally around eaither ends, not in the middle! The middle on the factory is about 3/16" thick which is just a little more than 1/8" thick. I think you will be fine, but if you want to restabalize that part you can use JB weld and spread it over a 2 or 3" area. You won't see it anyways, but you can just spray paint it afterwards. I wouldn't use epoxy, because they say it's for use on plastics, but when that gets hot the epoxy can get plyable! JB weld that sh.t and fill in those pit holes that is really air bubbles formed into the plastic!

Good call on the phone number lookup... they are gonna warrenty it all I have to do is take it in.

I'm not too worried about the intake, all I was saying as that it COULD have melted thru if things went even worse.
