When you finish washing but before you dry, take the spray nozzle off your hose and hose it from the top down, just let the water run off and down the car. It pulls off a lot of the droplets and any excess dirt that might be left. When I dry, I use two microfiber towels - one waffle weave to pick up any excess water and one mega plush to completely dry the surface. Using those two methods, I'm spotless every time.
It might be a pain in the ***, but definitely claybar every time before you wax. Wash the whole thing, claybar it, wash it again, then wax. It makes the paint really pop.

that taking the nozzle of the hose idea seems pretty cool. ill try that.

you dont need to clay bar it everytime you wash it you should clay bar every six months or so
