'93 Crown Vic Police Interceptor
Allright. I can get this car for nothing. Litterally, its a friend who wants to dump it off, so Iim going to get it. Car has 120,000 Miles, all highway (was a MD State Hwy Patrol car). The only issue this car has, is when the selector lever is in park and the car is on, it will not go into gear. i.e. you cant move the lever. If the car is in Neutral, it works fine. Car hasn't been beat on (except by the cops) and is in otherwise working order. Had all its routine maitenance, etc. Engine sounds like a champ.
so:
1)what could this problem be, is it actually transmission related or is it jus tthe selector lever.
2)what website might have parts for a crown vic?
3) Can I use GT parts for the 4.6L. I.E, UDP, possible supercharger in the future, etc..
(Yes I still have the mach, but everyone expects that car to go fast )

i know my friend had the problem that she would put it from park to drive and it would never engage and her problem was transmission fluid. it sounds like you have a slightly different problem but it is a quick one minute check that you could do to just see. and you could prob use a tranny fluid change anyways cuz my uncle is a police officer and i know how he beats his car up
