traction control question

RE: traction control question
Hmm well my car is 250miles away right now so I can't just go check it out. I have had the car for about a month so I haven't yet had to slam on the brakes nor have I done a burnout.
It would seem like I don't have them though just from reading what you and everyone else are saying. I guess I'm kind of happy about it. I planned to disable TC when I got my tuner anyway. As far as ABS goes, I know it's for safety but it almost caused me to get in a wreck with my previous vehicle because it kicked in while I was trying to keep from rearending someone. Had they stopped completely I would have hit them. Although the outcome would have probably been the same without ABS. That and the ABS sensors went bad and cost $250 each to be replaced.
I guess I'll look at it as one less thing that can break, haha. Thanks for the help!

RE: traction control question
Quoted from the timeline here, talking about the '01 GT:
Maybe the cars (Not the 99, it was an option then) were special ordered without TC, but it is standard.
Although not available on the base model, traction control now is standard on the premium V6 as well as all V8 Mustangs. This increases the driver's control of the vehicle. Regardless, the 2001 Mustang is a driver's car and really makes driving enjoyable. Not to mention the car grips the road well when cornering and no longer drives choppy like generations past. The car drives smooth thanks to the rear suspension, a new and improved braking system, better steering, and overall improvement of the vehicle's design.

RE: traction control question
My traction control doesn't really work unless it's on dry pavement anyhow. You give it gas and it still spins alittle. On ice if you start spinning it's not going to stop even with it on. Traction control iskind of a joke on these cars.
