Default RE: WTF? ANy truth in this?

I have seen no evidence whatsoever that the smaller wheel cars came with a 3.08. ALL of the 99-04 GTs should have a 3.27:1 ratio.

The compression ratio myth came from some information Ford put out. It incorrectly stated that the 00+ cars have a higher compression ratio (some sites call it the 01 1/2+ cars) but in the same peice of information they also call out a piston that has slightly more dish. These two things simply cannot both be true, as with more dish the compression would drop unless they also changed the head design... which they did not do.

Its a myth.

ORIGINAL: Derf00

Old debate that came up because people misread stuff to begin with. 00 to 04 COBRAS' came with 3.55 gears as did the MACH1. 99 Cobra had 3.27. In 98 or 99Mustang V6 had 3.08 with a 3.27 as an option. That lasted all of a year (if that) as 00 and up came with 3.27 only. GT's had 3.27 from 99 up. (don't know about 94-98)

I have yet to see a 03-04 cobra come with anything less than 3.55. It may be true that older Cobras had 3.55 as an option, but I have yet to see one or hear of one with something less than 3.55 00 or newer.

Sorry friend but my 2001 cobra came with 3.27's in the rear, as did anyone else who did not specifically ask the dealer to put something else in there. 3.55 didnt happen until the mach 1 and the terminator.
