Just bought a 1998 GT Convertible, I lile the sound of the stock exhaust, nice a smooth, just want it a little louder. Don't really care if it increases performance. Listening to sound clips it seems I really like the Magnaflow mufflers or Magnapacks. Question is, should I go for the whole cat-back or just have the mufflers welded in? The exhaust currently on it is in great shape.

One other question, is there a sound difference between Magnapacks and Glasspacks? It looks to me like a Magnapack is just and expensive stainless steel glasspack?

I have dual 18" glasspacks on my 2005 F150 5.4 and they sound great, pretty smooth, they don't really sound like what you think of when someone says glasspacks. I never would have thought to do them except a friend of mine had Glasspacks put on his 2003 and they sounded good. There is not a lot of sound inside either of our trucks, just enough to hear it, and absolutely no drone at any speed.[/align]

i have magna packs and im thinking of just selling them to get mac.... but i would also not just weld the mufflers in because stock exhaust has smaller piping...
