Default MAF sensor problem

my mustang shop said that my MAF sensor wasnt givingoff the right numbersof what it should be when he hooked it to the computer.. I am sorry I do not remember the correct terminology used but he recommended replacing it, but my question is, My car still runs? what could be some symptoms of needing to replace it?

If you're car is running fine, what made them run numbers on your MAF? Are they trying to sell you the part from their shop? If your car is running fine, sounds like BS. Is your sensor dirty?

Is your car running bad at all? If it is, then start off by just cleaning the MAF sensor.

If your car is running fine, then they could just be trying to get you to spend some extra cash.

first of all if you are going to clean your MAF, use the special **** you can get at like auto zone or something and let it air dry, dont touch it , they are sensitive...also, if it was bad bad your car would run like ****..so maybe its off a little and needs a clean, if that doesnt help then maybe its bad, but otherwise it should be ok if you car is running of and you seem not to lose any performance at any point.
