Default cooler EGR

Has anyone heard of , or use the EGR restrictors. They say that is slows the hot exhuast from entering the manifold, thus keeping the incomming air cooler......any thoughts? BS or true

It is a bad idea. The computerthinks that so much exhaust gas is coming into the intake which will put "dead" air into the combustion chamber. It counts on that air to deliver the correct amount of fuel. If you put a restricter in there then more burnable air will get in and the same amount of fuel which means it will be lean. The restrictor is made up by someone that thought cooler air means more horsepower but obviously they know nothing about what the EGR is there for. Either keep the EGR or delete it and tune the car to know its gone.
