hey guys, how much horsepower & psi would you say would be too much for a 1996 cobra "EDIT: it has 90k". ? would i be alright at 10psi with a Vortech?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, i searched the site but did not find an answer.

EDIT: Is the Vortech V-2 SQ really that quiet? I would like something loud that you can hear, but i dont see a V-1 available for the 96-98 cobra's... any suggestions?

the motor is good to around 450rwhp or so... it can handle upper 400's with a really good tune. but it has crap internals...

Thanks dude, so 450 is a pretty safe shot? Its beyond my goal. Do you think a guy with some pertty good automotive work ability can install a Vortech s/c v-2 on the 4.6? or is ti somthing i should let a shop handle...?

supercharger is easy to install...did mine in 1 day with 0 problems

+1, its a straightforward install.

So far as the WHP limit, I would keep it under about 430 just to be safe, maybe a little more with a intercooled setup.,
