torque converter
i've got a 96 gt with an aode. i wanted to beef up the transmission with a shift kit and a torque converter. any suggestions on brands or stall speeds. i plan to stay n/a for now.
I was told for my '97 auto that 2800 was good stall speed. Said it would launch like a stick. Butt, that was a transmission specialist....not a performance shop.I haven't done it though..... just get new gears
I have a 98 gt aode, and i am going to installing a 3000 converter i think, i have been told by Steen Racing that it should drop my 1/8 mile by about a half of second which would put me in the low 13's. I also have a friend who installed a 3000 and he gained 7tenths in the eighth, but i also have 4:10 gears so it may not be as much for you.
98 GT
4:10 gears
13.89 1/4 not bad for almost bone stock non pi car, and AODE trans
