i was on my way home today and somebody pulled up next to me in a firebird at a light,so of course we both took off when it changed and iwent to powershift from 1-2 and completely blew up 2nd gear. my car wont even stay in 2nd gear now. gota go find out how much its guna be to rebuild my tranny tomorow.thats what i get for racing and powershifting i guess.

 

damn, that succccks. Hope that doesn't cost you too much

haha yea i've been in a pretty terrible mood since. the worst part is that powershifting wasn't going to make any difference in the race, i was going to get wrecked either way.

Actually autos are more problematic than manuals because there are more mechanical parts such as the torque converter and means more heat (greater wear) because there isn't a direct link from the tranny to the driveshaft, like on a manual.
