My 1996 GT has been idling strange. When i push the clutch in when coming to a stop the rpm's actually go up to about 1700 and then they drop all the way down to about 500 and then it evens out. Also when driving and i push the clutch in to shift the rpms dont go down at all. I replaced the IAC valve and that didnt really do anything. Any ideas about whats the problem?

 

check your TPS screw, and check for vacume leaks. any codes?

 

what should it be idling at? mine idles at about 600

 

I have the same probllem ever since I fu.ked with my TPS sensor! I still haven't found the problem so if you do figure it out PLEASE let me know!!!
