Default Problems....

Well I got the motor back together myself, got the LTs installed and then the place tells me I broke my power steering fluid line. I have to leave the car there friday then I pick it up today drive it like 5 miles from the shop and my dad calls me telling me I am leaking something. My coolant light comes on so I park it in a parking lot. Pop the hood and the thermostate housing was cracked. Called a bunch of Ford dealerships and they said they had to order the part. I get in contact with one that is out in York PA which is an hour and 45 mins away (just as far as NYC from my house).

So I drive out there and get it. Put it on start the car and no more leaks. While still sitting in the gas stationparking lot about 20 mins from my house,I gave it some gas and hear a loud *** pop. Being open headers I first thought it was just from that. The motor starts running rough and I put my fingers on all the coil packs and feel one pumping up and down. Take it out and the spark plug was attached to it. Tried putting it back in and didn't work cause the threads in the head are stripped. Solong story short, I have to get my car towed about 7 miles to the closest Ford dealership. I guess it needs to be hieli-coiled. Same thing happened to my friend and he spent 800 bucks getting it fixed. All this and none of it has to do with me putting the motor back together... go figure.

Man that sucks. Looks like you are having some really bad luck. Pull the head yourself and take it to a machine shop. It will be cheaper to get it fixed.

Haha I just did all that. No more head pulling for me. I will spend the 800 bucks when I get my taxes back lol. It might not even be that much cause my friend had to pay more cause it messed something else up. I just wanna drive my car already! lol. How is your car running ox?

Great! still breaking her in but I did give her a little to see how she runs and she pulled hard as hell. Alot of vibration so I took it up to the machine shop to make sure it wasnt harmonics. He saw me pull up and was suprised I got it together so fast. He got in it and asked me what motor mounts Im using. I told him polyurethane and he said that is the vibration. The motor doesnt move at all in the bay it just makes the whole car shake. I cant wait till I can romp on it.

I cant figure out how to post a vid or I would. I uploaded one to photobucket.

Sweet. That's awesome. I hope you fix your vibration problem.

I'm stuck because I have sunk too much into my car now. It is getting towed from the gas station today at 4 when this guy gets done work he will tow it for me for 30 bucks. I have to wait to get my taxes back to fix it. I prolly won't be going to school next semester either cause of the damn car. My dad is pissed at me and thinks anything that happens to my car is my fault and he says that a 20 year old shouldn't own a car that cost that much. Oh well I bought it when I was in the military and planned on being there for 4 years so **** it.

Oh yeah just post the link to your photobucket video on here. Good luck.

No fix to the vibration unless I put the crappy stock rubber mounts back on. Its not that bad just worried me at first. But now I don't even notice it. Today after work I am throwing a 351W into my 91. I got solid lowered motor mounts for it. That should vibrate my teeth out . But the 91 is a race car (atleast thats what I tell the wife)

Have you tried going to the ford dealer and have them fix it under the TSP?

Haha yeah sweet. Get it bored and stroked to a 408. I wanna drop a 408 in a Fox someday. That sounds like a sweet car. So the motor mounts make that much of a difference?

Yeah I knew the motor mounts would cause that vibration but I forgot about it and only thought the worst.
