ya i guesse. OK i know that all cars have cats. If you remove them then your car is louder. If you modify the cats what does that do.I guesse im confused when it comes to modify your Cadallac Converters what does does it do for you

Taking off the cats produces another couple HP and it will change the sound / tone of the car dramatically (much louder). Most people do it for the sound, as the HP gained is not significant enough, also others do it on track cars to get every extra HP they can.

My brother has no cats on his mustang and just recently got in trouble for it. Looking back, personally if you go with the right catback, your car will be plenty loud with the cats on there. I would have put cats on the mustang this time around. If you are caught without them, you are screwed, and having to go through private inspection and what not just didn't justify it for me... too much of a hassle.

I am actually currently going through the same situation with my Vette. And I have decided to put the cats on and just change the catback if the one I selected doesn't quite do it for me, however, I put a lot of research in before I make decisions, so I am 99% sure I will be very happy with my selection.

Just jam some calicos or a short hair or two in your exhaust and that should quiet it up...as an added bonus, you'll make Bob Barker happier in his old age.
