painting grill?

Default painting grill?

anyone painted the honeycomb of the grill before???? thinking of doing it in black, and what would be best to use?

They get kind of silvery as they age--I've had very good results on automotive trim using Rustoleum's Satin series black rattle-can paint (Home Depot stocks it). It tales a bit longer than some to dry (2-4 hours), however it produces a very durable finish that stands up to bug-splats, etc. quite well.

I tried painting the chrome ring around the pony in the grill black.. it looked good for a while then bits of the paint started chipping off.. now it looks like CRAP [:@]

..time to buy a Mach 1 grill delete lol

i painted the honeycomb on my grill and sidescoops black..it looks way better,

I used Eastwood black trim paint on mine. It looks like new now.

As with all coatings and plating, preparation is the key. Make sure you clean and dewax/degreasebefore shooting the paint, use Prep-All or similar for the final wipe and it will hold up pretty well.I blacked out the corral and the GT side and rear emblems on my '03 4 months and 12k miles ago; they still look great.
