larger gears, or smaller gears? larger in the fact that they are 3.73>3.27, but 3.73 is actually a shorter gear...

anyway, no they shouldn't make any noise if they are installed right. Although the first time i installed mine they made noise, so i had to get them re-done.

Mustangs are easily capable of 140 mph + if the power and distance is there. 3.73 will still allow you to reach those speeds. i think 4th gear with 3.73 probable redlines in the 120 area.. but then again, you still have 5th...

I can easily reach 140 MPH in my Mach with 3.27 rear. Not something I do very often, but once or twice I have found a nice open stretch and did it easily. The 410's are great for street use, and obviously will get you to top speed faster, but man with the price of gasoline today, I think I'll stick with my 327's and just smile when a teeny bopper revs his engine at a stop light. Street racing is for fools.

mach's have 3.55's yhea u can get there on a back road i got to 145mph it is just the engine just kinda looses it's zing to keep the car going that fast. i havn't maxed the 3.73's but u can still get up there it is only a 400rpm diffrence btween the two

Oops, my bad. Yes, my Mach has 355's. I got wound up in the conversation, I forgot we Mach guys have an edge on the GT's. As far as keeping it going that fast for any amount of time is just foolish. Chit, that's not only dangerous, that's just plain stoopid.

just a thought, would 4.10's with a 6-spd swap allow the same top speed as 3.27's-3.73's with the 5-spd? im not asking for exact number, just a guestimate.
