myth of oil from k&n getting on maf.
found this to help dispute the myth of oil coming off an over oiled k&n filter and making the maf dirty. http://www.knfilters.com/MAF/2MAFSensorVideo.htm

RE: myth of oil from k&n getting on maf.
I have seen MAF sensors coated with oil and crap that came from/got through K&N filters--however in all cases they were older filters that had been over zealously cleaned and over-oiled. This said, I am still not a fan of them, and wouldn't put one on my lawnmower, however that's for reasons other than fouling the MAF...[/align]

K&N > all. K&N filters come on virtualy every aftermarket system for our cars out there (vorech, procharger, K&N, C&L, etc etc). The only time you acutally get MAF problems is if you over oil em.

And most people with superchargers that get oil on the MAF are idiots.. blaming it on the filter when its blowby from the PCV... I think thats where a lot of the rumors come from.. Ive seen that on here before. Lol

How would that get oil on the maf? At least on a suck thru setup the maf is before everything but the filter, the PCV can't get oil on the maf sensor....

And also when you have an in the fendor setup and are getting blow by, when the car is shut off, it will run back down through your intake piping. Ever see people have oil coming out of their air filter? Its not uncommon... thats why quite a few people on here are running oil catch cans.

Also, if your running an air filter that is the low point of your intake system, especally inside the fendor where its a pretty straight drop after an elbow, and your blown.. either your not getting any blowby.. which is pretty rare unless its a really fresh motor, or your getting just a slight amount, meaning that your only getting a few drips down into your fendor area and its drying up when your driving.. not enough to drip out, so you may not see it.
When your rings start to wear quite a bit with miles or if you keep pushing more and more boost, your blowby will increase little by little till eventually you will see a little drip of oil from out of your fendor when the car is parked for a while.
