Default pi swap or nitrous

Ive got a 96 mustang gt and at the track I can keep up with most cars(9.32 in the 1/8 mile)but after 50mph my car is very slow(npi heads). So I was talking to a mustang shop about a pi swap and he said that its not worth it when compared to nitrous. I told him Im trying to do 8.5 in the 1/8 mile. he told me that it wouldnt be a problem with nitrous. I dont know which one to do. All the older guys are telling me that my car wont last with nitrous. So I dont know. My mods are below

a lot of the problem of falling off in higher rpms is because of the nonpi intake
