Default Coolant light

Ok I broke my heater core and I had Ford by-pass it. I don't have any coolant leaks and I have plenty of coolant in the resivor but my coolant light comes on. I pulled the battery and I put about 50 miles on the car and the light came back on.

My question is, does your coolant light come on if the heater core is by-passed?

LOL man how many things did you break? J/K

It could just be a bad sensor. They are cheap try swapping it out.

I didn't think the sensor had anything to do with the core, I would try replacing the sensor.

Haha a lot of minor things (the heater core, the thermostate housing, stripped a bolt on the EGR, and blew a spark plug... the later not being minor). I fixed my idle problem. Seems the Ford dealership forgot to plug in 2 sensors that I noticed when I picked the car up. Later on I saw that a vacuum line wasn't connected. Car runs great now. Sounds like the passanger side timing chain is making a little noise though?

How did you break the heater core?

Sound from the chain could be alot of things so its hard to tell you what to do about that.

Well it was when I was taking the heads off. The driver's side head has the coolant return tube bolted on the back of it and I was having a hard time getting that bolt out. So in my wisdom I thought to take the heater house off to get to it. I guess I jerkedthe hosetoo hard (let's be mature) and it broke. It was really sensitive let me tell you that. So anyone taking the heater hose off the heater core be careful.

Anyway yeah I'm gonna see if the little float thing in the coolant res. is ok. Also do you think the chain making noise could cause motor problems? I'm going away for 4 days next weekend and I wanna bring my car. The car runs great right now. Also another question Ox... do you need the throttle return spring? I took mine off and the car is a lot faster. Will it cause damage if I leave it off?
