I have bone-stock 2004 Mach 1 and am planning on ordering a new exhaust, cat-back, system and gears after that....what gear ratio would ya'll recommend? Keep in mind that I'm bone stock and use this vehicle as a DD...just looking to to have a little more fun!

 

3.73 or 3.90. I put 4.10's in my DD, now i wish i had done 3.73's

Are you planning on a s/c at some point?

 

Can't go wrong with 3.73's or 3.90's. Both give a good kick while being "civil" on the street. 4.10's and 4.30 IMHO are more for track cars.

 

I love my 4.30's and I'm a DD. You having a Mach will benefit even more from a lower gear (higher numerically) since you can rev higher than I can in just a GT. I would say no less than 4.10's for you.

how will going with either 4.10's versus 3.73's effect gas mileage? I still have to use this as a DD....occassionally at the track

 

my 4.10's are very fun but i do a half city half hwy. still get 19ish to the gall. if i had to do over again i'd go with 3.73. i had to learn how to drive my car all over again
