so there's this faint ticking sound comming from under the hood.. almost sounds like it's nearest to the passenger side.. i can only hear it when i let off the pedal.. no gas, no break.. just coasting is when i hear it

it sounds like them clickers u put on a bicycle so it makes that ticking sound each time the piece hits a tire spoke

any ideas?

 

most likely the injectors, they are notoriously loud on these 4.6's

 

+1. Mine make all kinds of @#$%ing noise. It almost sounds like an exhaust leak....

 

I have been hearing the same thing on my 03. I thought it was an exhaust leak. I tightend my mid pipe like 3 times. no luck.
