i dont know much about shift kits other than they firm up your shifts so their stronger.....i got mine tuned which i think is the way to go.....cuz i picked up 20 rwhp and its like i got a shift kit, he put the trans pressure up from liek 60% to 100% changed the shift points and did a bunch of other stuff

shift kit lets the tranny shift into gear harder and faster. honestly its a waste of money. first thing you should do is get a transmission cooler, then just buy an SCT XCAL 2 and crank up the shift firmness. only reason you should do a shift kit, is if this car is going to be a long term investment. not many people would wanna buy a used mustang that shifts like a tank.

i have a transgo **** kit and i love it... the shifts are firm but not to much different then stock when just driving around the street. but when you punch it thats when you really notice the difference. i would say to get a shift kit, with a trans cooler, and a stall. But thats just my opinion.

I don't get it. Some people say get a shift kit. Others say firm the shifts with the tuner. but I've also heard that is bad for the tranny to firm up the shifts with the tuner cause you only putting more pressure on the trans, and cause it to fail. But oh well I guess I'm gonna do both,l if my shift kit doesn't firm it up enough wich I think I will, then I'll use the tuner to firm it up even more.
